2003 DODGE DURRANGO Repalcement Speakers

Infinity Reference 6032si Performance Loudspeaker

Infinity Reference 6032si Performance Loudspeaker

Purchased these speakers to replace the ones on my front door of a 2001 Chrysler 300M. The existing speakers were cracking around the edges causing buzzing. These speakers go in very easily. I removed the existing speakers, used the adapter that came with the new speakers, and used the original 3 screws from the old speakers to screw in the adapter. Cut off the plug from the old speaker wiring and wired that to the new speakers. Put a spot of solder on it but wrapping it would probably work. I then installed the new speakers. I did have to use 4 small screws (not provided)for each speaker to mount the new speaker to the adapter. I'm sure these are not concert hall speakers but the sound is perfectly suited for my radio and CD player while driving. These probably work on the rear doors as well but those are still in good shape for me.

  1. I'm more than satisfied with these Infinity Reference speakers. I installed them in the front doors of my '02 Chrysler 300M to replace the ones that had torn suspension material and they completely tranformed the sound! The tweeters serve no purpose because the cross-over unit on my amp doesn't allow the high frequencies to get through but the mid and low frequencies complement my rear drivers.

  2. Short sweet and to the point. These babies are excellent for the price, around 65 on Amazon way lower than Crutchfield. I hooked them up to a Sony Deck with 52 watts per channel and they perform beautifully. The highs are crisp and the lows are clear. Of course they don't handle bass too well but that's why one needs a sub. It's been my personal experience that if I, need a set of speakers for any application I will just go with Infinity. I have never been disappointed and always very pleased.

    Thanks

  3. These speakers sound great with my Sony CDX-GT700HD. Got the shallow mounts because I didn't want the hassle of possibly getting a speaker too deep for my Nissan Altima. I thought that the highs were at times too shrill with the +3db switch turned on. They really don't need that much more coming from the tweeters so i switched them off and they sound great. Don't expect them to pound out bass but it is more than enough if you don't desire your trunk to rattle.

  4. I used 2 pairs of these to replace the door and rear shelf speakers in my E46 3 series coupe. They needed BMW-specific adapter plates ($10 from ebay) to mate to the factory mounting points, but were shallow enough and of a narrow enough diameter to fit. Driven by the stock head unit, they're a definite improvement over stock at low volume, and can be pushed much louder without distortion.

One thing to be aware of: the speakers don't come with cables or spade connectors, so you will need to find or make those yourself. The box does include adapter rings for a variety of applications, and rolls / cutouts of foam rubber gasket maker to seal the edge of the speakers - a nice touch which seems to improve sound quality and probably reduces rattle.

  5. Bought a pair of shallow mount speaket set, about six months ago. One speaker failed, it sounds broken, looks and appears fine, I never exceeded the max wattage or abused them. Stock radio drives four speakers, 18 watts RMS, way under the listed capacity. I phoned the manufacturer, line picked up promptly, no waiting. Infinity will replace not one but two speakers (pair)at no cost, only had to provide proof of purchase receipt, but of course I lost the receipt....Wait, Amazon keeps one on-line in "your account" link, KUDOS AMAZON! and pay for shipping back the defective pair. WOW! No third degree questioning from rep. There was even a follow-up a phone call from rep to ensure satisfaction. IF ANY MANUFACTURER stands behind their products just like Infinity did, they will get many life time customers. For their product support and customer satisfaction I give them 5 stars. WELL DONE INFINITY!

  6. We had our 2 front speakers completely fail on us in our 2003 Dodge Durango to the point they were no longer working. The rear speakers we also in bad shape and vibrated horribly when any amount of bass was in a song. I decided to order a pair of these from Amazon to first see if I could replace the front speakers and bring them back to life again. The installation was painless, remove the door panel, a small amount of wire reworking, and then screw them back into place. It took about 20 minutes per door to replace.

These speakers sound leaps and bounds better then the front ones did before they went out. I was so impressed, I immediately ordered another pair and replaced the rear speakers. Now, the entire truck is full of vibrant, crisp sound with a respectable amount of mids and bass. This is a family vehicle so for our needs (read out loud books, pop music, classical, kids, etc), they perform wonderfully.

Great product at a great price, easy to install, you can't go wrong with these Infinity speakers.

  7. I installed these in my 2005 Honda Civic. Using Damplifier Pro (Butyl Sound Deadener) to deaden the doors, these speakers really shine. I am able to drive them at high volume with no distortion. My head unit is a Pioneer DEH-7900BT 50Wx4 MOSFET. Out of the box the "Super Bass" EQ preset was impressive and really showed the capabilities of these speakers. My head unit handles these speakers well and the internal design of my car makes these speakers a perfect match. The front speakers (Shallow Mount) were mounted using the factory speakers, which were Dremel-ed out to remove the cheap factory paper driver, plastic saddle, and minuscule magnet. The Infinitys were then mounted to the remaining factory speaker shroud using screws from Walmart($0.99). The rear speakers (Full Size), were mounted using the adapters included in the box.

Given what I've read in other reviews: I've done the research, necessary fabrication, and sound deadening to accommodate these speakers properly. Every car is different and not all head units are created equal. These speakers are premium quality with serious scientific research behind them. If the sound is not to your liking, Google your problem. There are hundreds of posts out there with similar problems for your make and model vehicle. Sound systems are more than just the speakers you put in your car.

UPDATE: I upgraded to the Pioneer DEH-80PRS. After some Auto Time Alignment and Auto EQ with the supplied tuning mic, as well as a couple of manual adjustments... all I can say is that I'm impressed all over again. I thought they sounded good before! The head unit is awesome, but the fact that I heard the difference in quality between the 4+ year old head unit and the latest and greatest from Pioneer really shows what these speakers can do. So very happy.

  8. Speakers delivered fast from Amazon. The box includes an adapter that allows for drop-in replacement for the Wrangler's three-hole mounting pattern in the sound bar. Jeep factory grill can still be used. Forget about a wiring adapter - just remove factory connector and crimp on two female spade connectors. Speakers sound much better than basic factory units as expected. Appear to have been made in Taiwan (factory units assembled in China).

  9. Awesome Speakers for the Price and a direct replacement to my worn out 2003 Dodge Durrango Infinity System.

The Adapter Plates are in the Carton, Sandwiched between two pieces of cardboard.
